Lambert Out For England
Rickie Lambert has been ruled out of England's friendly with Chile on Friday night after picking up an injury in training.
Rickie Lambert will not play any part in the match at Wembley on Friday night although reports vary as to why he misses the game, some media outlets say its a knock in training whilst others claim its a muscular injury to his thigh, its unclear whether he will also be ruled out of the Germany fixture next week.
The England striker joins Steven Gerrard, Darren Welbeck, Michael Carrick and Kyle Walker in missing out on the action, although Gerrard and Walker along with Lambert could return against Germany.
However this is good news for Saints other England hopefuls Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez, again the media is reporting that they have been told that they will both play some part in the game on Friday night although whether either will actually start is unclear.
What is clear though is that the England squad is "down to the bare bones" as one rejected candidate for the England manager's job often likes to say when he has either been beaten or feels that he is about to be, with 5 already ruled out that leaves only 20 fit outfield players and several of them are doubtful including Frank Lampard who has been unwell and Jack Wilshere with a foot injury, this can only be good news for our dynamic duos chances of earning a cap.
