Benali To Train For Big Run In West Quay On Saturday

Francis Benali is stepping up his training for his forthcoming charity run by training on a treadmill in West Quay.

As he prepares for his charity run that will cover over 1,000 miles and take in all 20 Premier league grounds Franny will be pounding the treadmill for about 3 hours on the ground floor of the West Quay shopping centre starting at around 11am.

Benali's Big Run is due to start in three weeks and the Saints legend will start at Newcastle and end at St Mary's, running around 40-50 miles each day and hopefully raising around £1 million pounds for Cancer Research along the way.

This is a typical gesture from a man who although had a fearsome reputation on the pitch was one of the nicest guys in football off it.

As well as the chance to meet Franny and offer him a few words of support, you will also have the chance to sponsor him and throw a few quid into the bucket for a worthy cause.

Also lending his support will be Sammy Saint although his fellow mascot Super Saint will not be present fuelling rumour that he is about to join Liverpool in a big money deal, pictures of Super Saint in a Liverpool shirt have emerged on the internet although when asked recently he refused to say a word.

Super Saint of course is the longest serving member of the Saints matchday squad and it would be a big blow for him to jump ship, however its believed he is very ambitious and wants the chance to raise the crowd up on the Champions League stage.
