Koeman Looking To Bring In New Faces In January
Ronald Koeman is looking to bring in a couple of new players in January to bolster the squad.
Ronald Koeman has revealed he is looking to bringin at least two new faces in the January Transfer window, but he has also stated that no one will be leaving the club in January despite the usual rumour mongerer's in the national media claiming that both Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin will be departing for bigger clubs, or even Tottenham Hotspur should no bigger club than Saints come in for either.
Thats good news for Saints fans as they want to see that the club is serious about mounting a charge for honours in the New Year and the return of Jay Rodriguez plus a couple of key signings would be a boost to Saints that perhaps few of the Club's below them can afford.
At a rough guess Saints have around £20 million stillleft in the coffers from the summer sales as well as other monies that would have normally have been earmarked for transfers in from the £80 million Premier League money.
But the emphasis will be on two key signings, Koeman has not yet revealed which positions he is looking to strengthen in, but with Sadio Mane away for potentially a month it could be a winger and even a striker in Koeman's mind.
Certainly if we can buy the right players and in that respect Saints have spent wisely so far, then there is no reason why we should not come on strong in 2015.
But before that we need to get back to winning ways to ensure that when the end of January comes and we will have got the bulk of the games against the big clubs out of the way, we are still in a position to make a genuine challenge for a Top 5 or even top 4 finish.
