Harry Redknapp Is Still The Man Saints Fans Most Love To Hate

It might be ten years since harry Redknapp's bungling cost Saints their place in the Premier League but he is still the manager Saints fans love to hate more than any other.

When I put up a little poll to find out which ex manager Saints fans hate the most, I must admit although i expected Harry Redknapp to feature strongly I thought that ten years having passed since his debacle of a time here that perhaps the rawer wounds of last summer might take some votes from him.

Voting in poll's such as these often have an age bias, for instance you would need to be at least in your 30's to truly understand just what Ian Branfoot meant to Saints fans in terms of how he was seen to be such a negative influence on the club.

Branfoot still polled a respectable 24% though showing that some people never forget.

Glenn Hoddle and his defection was 14 years ago, time seems to have mellowed Saints supporters and he was rated as public enemy number 1 by only 7%.

The big surprise though was Mauricio Pochettino, I expected him to win by a landslide given that his transgressions were only last year, but perhaps the fact that he did take us to 8th and did us no real damage unlike the other 3 was factored in, certainly the Argentinian got a hot reception at the weekend, but polling only 3% in this poll perhaps suggested that as much as he is disliked many supporters have written him off as someone not worth their hate.

But the winner by a landslide was Harry Redknapp he got a whopping 66% of the vote as most hated ex Saints manager ever, Im not surprised that he figured strongly Im just baffled that he won by such a big margin.

Perhaps its the fact that since he left St Mary's he has continued to have a high profile and continued to do the same things that made us all realise that he was not an honourable man, whether it was his second term at Pompey, his time at Spurs or his last outing at QPR, he left all those clubs with their supporters feeling a little let down and his constant outbursts in the press are sometimes very contradictory.

This is probably the main reasons why even ten years after the damage he did to us and even after our resurgence that we can never quite consign him to the history books.

So Harry Redknapp is the man we Saints fans still love to hate the most, the big question is now after his knee's have miraculously recovered whether he will ever set foot in St Mary's again, I wouldn't write that off just yet especially if Bournemouth are promoted and if I was a Pompey fan I would also be worried.
