Jay Rodriguez Set For A Return Tonight
Jay Rodriguez is set to return to competitive action tonight when Saints U21 side take on Manchester City's at St Mary's.
Saints U21 side are set for a bumper crowd for their final game of the campaign this evening (Tuesday) when they take on Manchester City at St Mary's with a 7pm kick off and the reason is the opportunity to see Jay Rodriguez play some part in the game as he continues his road to recovery.
It is ironic it is City who are the opponents as they are a team who have played a prominent part in Jay Rodriguez career so far.
Firstly they were the team whom he not only made his Saints debut against but also his Premier league debut in our 3-2 defeat on the opening day of the 2012/13 season. They were also of course the team he suffered the injury against some 14 months ago that has kept him out since and now of course they are the team against whom he makes his comeback against albeit at U21 level and they could be the side whom he makes his first team return against on Sunday in the final game of the season in the Premier League.
Tonights game sees the U21 side take on City for the second time in three days following up from our 2-0 win up at City on Saturday.
Entry to the game is free with a 7pm kick off and there is also a streaming of the game on the Club's official youtube channel.
