Come On Arsenal !!!!!!
Saints now have to sweat on Arsenal winning the FA Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday if they are to play in Europe next season.
Hampshire is mainly split into two when it comes to supporting football teams and this weekend will be no different as those to the West of the county become Arsenal fans for a day, whilst those in the East will become the Claret & Blue few as they will Aston Villa on.
But for Saints the FA Cup Final represents more than just a game this year, if Arsenal win the trophy then Saints will compete in the Europa League next season and that will be a fitting reward for the progress we have made over the past year since the "meltdown" of last summer.
So most Saints fans will be watching the cup final and roaring on the Gunners, if it goes to form then we should be fine, after all Arsenal finished the season fairly strongly and are desperate to win a trophy, whereas Villa were appalling for most of the season and were as bad as bad could be at St Mary's a week or so ago, if they play like that at Wembley then the game will be finished by half time.
But the Cup Final often does not go to form, ask Manchester City who after arriving at the stadium to play already relegated Wigan Athletic a couple of years ago assumed that in having managed to turn up that they had already won the trophy.
So come on Arsenal we are all behind you here.
