Season Tickets Officially Sold Out

Saints have announced that they have officially sold out all of the season tickets they had allocated for the 2015/16 season.

Although Saints are keeping quiet about the actual numbers sold for this season, they are confirming that it is over 20,000 and that it is the biggest number since season 2003/04 when around 23,000 were sold on the back of the previous seasons FA Cup Final appearance.

Saints like most clubs apply a cap to the number of seats they will allocate to be sold as season tickets so that there are plenty of individual game tickets available so they can keep nurturing a supporter base who do not have season tickets and need to have the chance to go to keep their interest up.

Whatever the numbers it is good to see that Saints supporters have responded in numbers by buying season tickets, but the club should not rest on its laurels, it should realise that prices were put up too high a couple of seasons ago and that we are at breaking point in terms of affordability for many, further increases in price could see numbers drop. Like many clubs Saints are getting near capacity crowds, but the key word is "near" and there is scope to push that average up with some games far from sold out.
