Virgil Van Dijk Expects To Be Fit To Face Stoke City
Saints defender Virgil Van Dijk has spoken of how he is confident of being fit to face Stoke City on Saturday as Saints look to push nearer the top five.
Virgil Van Dijk has been the find of the season so far, so it is natural that Saints fans should be worried that the knee injury picked up in action for Holland will keep him out of this weeks Premier league action.
However the Dutchman has been quick to put fans minds at rest that the injury to his knee is only minor and a strain rather than something more serious.
"I think it is fine but I didn’t want to force it in the second half because it is a friendly,” he said.
"I am very confident it will be OK. We checked everything at half-time and it is nothing really bad.”
Good news and hopefully Van Dijk will be fit to continue the great form that has already made him one of the favourites for player of the year.
