Win A Copy Of The Bobby Stokes Book !

If you haven't bought a copy of the book Bobby Stokes The man from Portsmouth who scored Southampton's most famous goal, then shame on you ! Now we give you a chance to win a copy.

The Bobby Stokes book is indispensable reading for anyone who was following Saints back in 1976, it evokes some great memories of the times but it it more than that, it tells the story of a man who spent most of his career as an unsung hero and then had his life turned upside down.

It also gives a great insight of how football was back then, a time when we used to mock the players of the 1930's for travelling to games on the tram along with the fans on matchday's, yet today's players are as far removed from the likes of Bobby in the 1970's as he was from his predecessors back in those pre World War 2 days .

For younger Saints fans it will be a club they won't recognise, but it will be an education, the important thing going forward is that we start to remember the history of our football club and start to celebrate it, that time is long overdue.

Hagiology Publishing started the ball rolling and have produced some excellent publications, however they have rarely touched on the human side of the club and its fans.

Mark Sanderson has taken a big step in doing that, this at times is sad reading as it highlights just how little Saints cared for their ex players back then and indeed 21 years after Bobby's sad death, little changed until recently.

The book is of course available at all good bookshops etc and at £12.99 is a bargain.

Now we at www.theuglyinside.net are giving one lucky member of the site a chance to win a copy of the book and it's simple to do, just log on to the Ugly Inside Video Channel using the links below.

Then if you haven't subscribed to the channel do so, after that it's simple, just tell us in the comments section below this article just where we are interviewing the author of the Bobby Stokes book Mark Sanderson.

We will then pick a lucky winner who will receive a copy of the book.

Closing date for the competition is Midnight on Sunday 29th May 2016.

All decisions are final and the Ugly Inside will not enter into any discussions about the draw or its winner.
