What I.Saw: We Look Pretty Good - If Only We Could Finish!

Early start to Brizzle. High grey clouds, drizzle. Motorway miles mulched, blue skies ahead, is it an omen?

Passengers collected at Cannock, we chase the sun. At 50 miles per hour.

Slightly less speed as we detour over the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

It's there, it has to be done.

A Summer's day at Bedminster Cricket Club, no match just spectators.

Shiny cars soaking up the sun, deck chairs, beer and £1 baguettes. Already a day to remember no matter the result.

Ashton Gate, so much better than the old days of backless seats.

Our travelling army, small, we make all the noise. Behind the team from the start we raise the roof.

The football is poor. From both sides. It's not dire it's just messy, scrappy and totally devoid of skill.

We begin to get bored. We look for fun elsewhere. We take the Micheal out of a man in a hat away to our right.

Forty minutes in the "Let’s Pretend we’ve scored a goal” Chant. We were closer than the free kick that followed.

Out of nowhere. Well out of Carson’s hands, the ball is booted.vThe Bristol City defender stoops to head the ball backwards, a mistake it's a glancing blow the ball bounces and winger Anya pops up in the centre and chips the ball over the onrushing Fielding.

The net ripples. A second passes. We look right to the Lino, we look left to the referee. We explode.

We've scored. We've scored. We've scored!!

Barely have they time to kick off. It's the end of the first half.

Concourse mayhem, singing, bouncing, video phoning, its mental. In a good way. The floodgates have opened we are expecting a deluge.

Second half, the Robins attack, we play on the counter, we look pretty good. If only we could finish!

Wilson and Vydra both fail to take excellent chances as does Bent when he comes on. In fairness Fielding did well but one on one with the keeper you expect to score.

Perhaps we don't.

They smash a rocket into our bar, luckily the rebound is away and not down and over the line.

We soak up pressure right until the end. Almost…

Down our right, two on one, to the byline, ball across, a tap home by Wilbraham, fourth minute of injury time and the scores are level.

Barely did we have time to kick off.

Performance wise better than last Saturday, less of the play than against Ipswich midweek, we did get a point, we arguably deserved all three.

We would have had them if we had taken our gilt edged chances.

Playing on the break suits this team I think. Our confidence is low.
