Olsson Signs Up And Is Ready For Action

The Swans have completed the signing of Norwich City defender Martin Olsson who is ready to make his bow for the team immediately as they prepare for a particularly difficult trip to Liverpool at the weekend.

It doesn't get any easier for the Swans at the moment and with Liverpool being one of the division's most potent attacks the arrival of any defender can only be seen as a good thing for the division's weakest defence.

Forty-nine goals conceded in twenty-one games tells its own story as does the fact that the Swans have added a left back to their ranks which could well signal the end of Welsh international Neil Taylor's time at the club.

Olsson joins on a two year deal and became Paul Clement's second signing of the January transfer window immediately joining up with his team mates and almost certainly looks set to take his place in the team for Saturday's visit to Anfield.

"Liverpool would be a good place to make my debut," said Olsson, who has seen Clement's work first-hand during his time at Blackburn Rovers.

"They are a good team, but hopefully I will start the game and we will get the right result.

"I just want to get into the team and start playing.

"I've known Paul for a few years and he's a good man. I like the way he trains – it is intense – and I can't wait to start working with him.

"The squad plays good football, even with the position the team is in now, and I don't think the club should be down there. It's a good team.

"A few seasons ago Swansea were very high up in the table, and they haven't lost too many players since then.

"With the way we play, we should be up there. Hopefully Paul comes in with his tactics and makes it work."
