Saints Head To Austria For Opening Friendly

Saints head off for their training camp in Austria before crossing into Switzerland for the opening pre season friendly

Southampton will kick off their pre-season fixture schedule against Swiss side St Gallen, in the conclusion pre-season of the club’s training camp in Austria this week.

Saints will take on the Swiss Super League side on Saturday 15th July, at FC Goldach's Sportanlage Kellen ground, which is in Switzerland, with kick-off set for 3.30pm BST.

It will be the first chance to see the side under the guidance, of the newly appointed Manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

Saints leave for Austria this morning, where they will continue to step up preparations ahead of the 2017/18 season throughout the week with a series of training sessions.

The meeting with St Gallen will be the Swiss side’s final game before beginning their own domestic season, so should provide a stern test for a Southampton squad filled with a mixture of senior and U23 players.

- Jordy Clasie
- Ollie Cook
- Steven Davis
- Jake Flannigan

It was 4 in a row for Tonda Eckert & his Saints side, another polished performance that pushed us up to 11th but more importantly to the fringes of the play off spots, posing the question how a team and it's players who were so poor just 3 weeks or so ago can be so different now.
