Pellegrino Pleased With Positives In St Gallen Draw !

Maurcio Pellegrino has been commenting on his first game in charge at Southampton Football Club, find out what he has had to say here.

The new Saints boss used two different sides during the game and was without the services of several key men due to either injury or having been away on International duty depriving him of around seven players, at least four of whom would be in most people's starting line up on lst seasons form.

Speaking after the game Pellegrino told the club' official web site.

"It was a difficult game, because the pitch from the beginning was too dry from my point of view,"

"We couldn't see too many things on a technical level, or on an attacking level, because we couldn't give many passes to try to be more on the opponents' end of the pitch, to try to create more attempts, or get into in wide areas that we were expecting from the beginning."

"In the second half, more or less it was the same dynamic. But it was a physically demanding game and, for us, as the first one, more or less I am happy for that."

Pellegrino was also pleased with the way the youngsters who came into the squad performed and felt the game and the week was a positive experience for them.

"You know that we are working with a lot of young players who we are watching,"

"I want to give the opportunity to everyone and, for that reason, we are mixing the young with the players with the more experience.

"We have a lot of work to do, but I have confidence that we will be much better in the next few weeks."
