Saints Defence Is Centre Of Attention As Tunisian Linked
Southampton along with follow Premier League side Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Valencia's central defender Aymen Abdennour.
According to the journalist Dahbia Hattabi on Twitter, the Tunisian international is attracting the attention of various sides this summer with Saints seemingly included.
Abdennour was once tipped for big things in France during his time in Ligue 1 with Toulouse, but things haven't gone as played for the Tunisian International at the Mestalla.
Due to the form shown in his early days however, this doesn’t appear to have hindered any interest in the player this summer, with Inter Milan also being linked with him.
The 27-year-old made had limited playing time last season making just 14 appearances, so the guarantee of further playing time for him would be key to tempting to make a switch to the Premier League.
Saints appear to be an easy link when it comes to available centre halves this summer, due to Virgil Van Dijk being heavily link with a move away in the media, it's interesting to see an experienced defender linked to St Mary's though.
With the likes of Jose Fonte or Martin Caceres yet to be replaced in the first team squad.
What do you think of the link to Aymen Abdennour Saints fans? would you be happy if the move came to fruition?
