Charlie Austin Linked With Move Back To QPR

Charlie Austin is being touted for a return to Queens Park Rangers according to reports from West London today.

Charlie Austin has not had the best of times at St Mary's, after an explosive debut where he notched a late winner against Manchester United at Old Trafford he spent most of the rest of that season injured.

Last season he started well and scored a few goals but was then injured in December and would not play again for five months.

This season he seems to have been put down the pecking order by Mauricio Pellegrino, he is yet to start a game although he has come on as sub in 6 of the 8 Premier League fixtures so far, usually in the last 10 minutes of the game.

That has lead to speculation that he may depart from the club in the january transfer window and it seems that Queens Park Rangers could be heading the queue according to getwestlondon.co.uk who say that the Loftus Road club are 8/1 favourites to sign him in the January transfer window.

After QPR, the bookies have selected Burnley (12/1), Crystal Palace (16/1) and Bournemouth (20/1) as the other most likely destinations for Austin, although he is listed as 1/3 to remain at St Marys Stadium, with that currently seeming the most likely outcome if you believe the odds.

Most Saints fans would like to see Charlie Austin given more of a chance, he has a proven scoring record and although he may not be as mobile as either Shane Long or Manolo Gabbiadini he certainly knows where the net is.
