Saints Can Now Take On The Big Boys !

For the first time in 18 months you feel that Saints can take on one of the big sides and win !

It hasn't been all sweetness and light for Mauricio Pellegrino this season, but in the last three games you can see something there, a sense of confidence is returning and we have looked a little bit more like the Saints of old.

That means we can go into the game against Arsenal with confidence that we can get a result, something that since the departure of Ronald Koeman we have rarely looked like doing against one of the big six clubs in the Premier League at least.

The result at Bournemouth was a little disappointing in that we made an error which cost us a goal and we couldn't finish off the game, but we showed an overall discipline that has been lacking and we have a central midfield that can combat the likes of Arsenal, as we showed at City we can take pressure and keep things tight, players are again doing their jobs.

But these things take time and the manager can't just click his fingers and make everything right, however he seems to have turned a corner, a couple of weeks ago I truly feared for Saints, but now I am looking forward to the weekend and what is a big week ahead of us just before Xmas.

But I think we can be firmly in that top ten by Xmas and have a good foundation for the new year.

When Tonda Eckert took over as Southampton manager on an interim basis, if you had said then that he would win his first four games and only lose a fifth with a 97th injury time winner, most would have been delighted and now he looks set to continue, at least for the short term.

A Rough Guide To Millwall
It was late drama in our last visit in a competitive game two years ago and a bit chaotic afterwards due to issues with the trains between London Bridge & South Bermondsey, hopefully there will be no such issues this time around.
Southampton V Leicester City The Verdict
It was 4 in a row for Tonda Eckert & his Saints side, another polished performance that pushed us up to 11th but more importantly to the fringes of the play off spots, posing the question how a team and it's players who were so poor just 3 weeks or so ago can be so different now.
