Saints Set For Pre Season Trip To France
Saints look set to cross the Channel for a training camp in France, redandwhitesupporter looks at the details.
According to today's Daily Echo, the club will travel across the channel for a pre season training camp which will last for at least a week.
The exact dates of the trip are yet to be confirmed, but the report states that Saints will also play two pre season friendlies during their time there with the opposition also still to be confirmed by the club.
It will be their second trip away with the already announced trip to owner Gao Jisheng's homeland of China, set to kick of the summer activities with the club attempting to boost their name and reputation in the far east region of the world.
It's reported the club prefers to travel to mainland Europe, due to it's good conditions and the strength of opposition available for their pre season fixtures.
Depending on the date of the French trip, it could also provide an opportunity for the players heading to the world cup this summer to be involved in a team building exercise ahead of the new campaign in August.
All four of Dusan Tadic, Jan Bednarek, Maya Yoshida and Cedric Soares will be given a proper break following the world cup so their participation will be subject to how well their respective countries fare in Russia.
It provides an opportunity for fans to watch some pre season action abroad, with a trip to France a relatively easy and short one to make for those who wish to do so, and hopefully the club will have two or three new signings on show by the time the trip takes place.
No doubt it will be another busy summer at St Marys, and with the release of next seasons fixture coming next week there is much to look forward to as always.
