Meet The Legends !

Never again will all these Saints legends be in one room, so book your place to meet them at a charity dinner at St Mary's in June.

Lawrie McMenemy, Kevin Keegan, Peter Shilton, Matthew Le Tissier and Rickie Lambert are undoubted legends of Southampton Football Club and they will all be in one room at St Mary's in June.

The event is a charity dinner in aid of the Knights Foundation Charity an organisation run by another ex Saint Nicky Banger who himself went down in legend when he bagged a hat trick on his debut for the club back in 1990 in a League Cup tie at the Dell against Rochdale.

The idea is to make this event one that is accessible to the Saints supporters, it is a charity dinner but the dress code is smart casual rather than formal and at £60 a ticket including drinks on arrival and a 3 course dinner it will not break the bank.

This will be a great evening and a chance to not only mingle and talk with thse iconic names in Saints history, but also perhaps a few other ex players who will be in attendance.

It will be an evening of pure nostalgia and will appeal to Saints fans both young and old, taking in Lawrie McMenemy who was appointed manager of the club in 1973, won the FA Cup in 1976 and has been involved at times in various roles both at the Dell and St Mary's ever since.

It will take in the short Kevin Keegan era when the name of the club was on the tip of every football fans tongue in the World, followed by Peter Shilton who joined in 1982 and in his five year spell was considered not only the best goalkeeper the club had eve had, but the undisputed number 1 in the World throughout the 1980's.

Make no bones about it you didn't get much bigger than these two in World Football in the 70/80's and signings of their calibre will never happen again for club's the size of Saints.

Then we are in to the Matthew Le Tissier age, arguably not only the best player the club has ever had, but there can be no disputing the most popular, ask yourself why there are so many young men called Matt living in Southampton these days and there is only one person they are named after, sadly most of the dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters are no longer with us.

The modern age is catered for and it will be 10 years ago this coming August that Rickie Lambert, then although considered one of the best strikers in the lower divisions was little known to the Sky TV Generation arrived at St Mary's, the rest as they say is history, he was the icon and the foundation as the club rose again from it's spectacular fall, no one predicted just how iconic he would become and that he would play and score for England.

So will these five icons ever again be in the same room ? The answer is almost certainly no !

Tables of ten are available, but if you want to come in a smaller group or indeed on your own then that is not a problem, Nicky & his team will slot you in with other fellow Saints fans.
