Saints Open New Tottenam Hotspur Stadium ! See The Pictures !

Saints U18's were the visitors for the inaugural game at Spurs new stadium, see how impressive it is with our picture gallery here.

Saint's youngsters fell to a 3-1 defeat against their Spur's counterparts in the first game hosted at New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

First-half goals from J’Neil Bennett and Harvey White put the hosts in control, before Kornelius Hansen’s effort after the break looked to pave the way for a comeback. However, Dilan Markanday's finish from close range sealed all three points for the home side.

A crowd of 28,987 assembled to watch the match in the first of several test events designed to get the stadium ready for it;s first competitive games in April.

As good as the Stadium looks and know one can deny that it is impressive, there is a school of thought that says that due to the over running of the work, that meant the Stadium opened around 7 months after it was due to, that it was unfair that Tottenham should be allowed to change grounds with so little of the season left and that would be unfair on not only the opponents who have to visit but other clubs who may be affected by the results of those games.

However it could be that it is a disadvantage to Spurs who now have to play in a stadium that is not much more familiar to them than their opponents and therefore some of the home advantage is lost.

Anyway here are more pics.
