Saints Ready to Pursue Adams Again

Saints are reported to be about to launch a bid for Che Adams, although it has to be said that transfer reports at this time of year have to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Various media outlets are rehashing stories that Saints are about try and sign Birmingham City's Che Adams, this is not the work of a modern day Sherlock Holmes in that we were linked to him in January and in a recent interview Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed that the striker was one of several transfer targets for the summer.

The price for the 22 year old who has hit funnily enough 22 goals in the Championship for Blues is being quoted as being around £15 million, but this figure sounds like a starting price put into the media by either Birmingham themselves or the players agent in order to try and stir up interest and get a bidding war underway.

Leicester City are also said to be interested, but it should be stressed that no club at this stage of the season would be revealing their summer transfer targets to others to potentially stir up a bidding war and most stories in the edia about possible summer targets for any club are just that, stories.

Adams being Leicester born would be attracted to the Foxes due to the fact that he could remain near home, but home comforts are second to a good salary to most professional footballers as well as the potential to play games and further their career.

Saints could also have another bargaining tool and that is Sam Gallagher, with Ralph Hasenhuttl intimating that the decks need to be cleared Gallagher who will turn 24 early next season and who spent 2017/18 season with the Blues on loan, could be a makeweight in a deal should it happen.

This season is not yet over but the transfer rumour mill for the summer is only just beginning, but a rumour is far from a transfer being near to happening, good clubs play their cards close to their chest and rumours planted by clubs suggesting they are after one player in order to disguise their interest in another are common place.
