Ralph Happy After 3-1 Win At Feyenoord

Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl was happy with the way things are progressing in pre season after the win against Feyenoord.

Speaking after the game the Saints boss is pleased with the way things are going and the way Saints are going, however he also spoke of how the game highlighted to him certain areas that need improving.

"It was exactly the test I expected. It showed us where we have improved very well, but it also showed us where we still have weaknesses in our game.

"Not every player is on the same level in the moment, which is also normal because not everyone started at the same time.

"We have another two weeks and it was a good test, a very good test and again I tried to give everybody the chance to play. It was important the impressions I have got today.”

"I think the pressing was very good in the first half. We won a lot of balls and they gave us the chance to do so,” reflected Hasenhuttl.

"On the other hand, we gave a few chances away because deep defending and long balls we didn’t defend very well.

"Finally, two good goals. We could have scored more often because we had a lot of chances in the first half.

"Second half it was a different shape with the younger guys. I think what they can show they showed me. We haven’t been as dominant as in the first half sometimes but it was a good test, I saw a lot of good things and a few bad things which is ok.”

Although Ralph has not said anything that is groundbreaking here, he has shown that he is well aware of Saints shortcomings and what is needed to rectify them.

He has spoken recently about the need to still bring in new faces and that at the moment there is no need to panic, little business is done in transfer windows till the final week or so, saying that though Saints have done so good business so far, but now is when they need to land a couple of key players who can be the difference between a 14-15th place finish or top 10 which is where the Austrian has said we are aiming for.

At this stage there is no need to panic, the club are looking at strengthening, but that isn't always as easy as said as done.
