Injury News For Sheffield United Trip

Ralph Hasenhuttl has given an update on his squad's fitness ahead of the trip to Bramall lane to take on Sheffield United.

Ralph has delivered the bad news first revealing that Nathan Redmond will miss the game due to his ankle injury, but then the news gets better.

"The bad news is that Nathan [Redmond] is still not available, but he is making progress."

"Everybody is back from their international games without injuries, so that’s good news."

There is also more good news on the other injury issues of the last couple of weeks since our draw against Manchester United.

"With Moussa [Djenepo] it looks better; we aren’t sure whether it is enough to play this weekend. We’ll have to look. He can bring us something special, he showed it in the few minutes he’s played so far that he can make a difference.

"The chances are not that big, but let’s see. I don’t want to take too much risk because it’s a very busy September.

"Michael [Obafemi] is in training sessions as well as Ryan [Bertrand], they are both options. It has been good to regroup over the break, we’re looking forward.”

Saints still have striking options with Danny Ings, Che Adams and Shane Long all playing against United, but Ralph will hope to add at least one out of Obafemi and Djenepo to the bench to offer some pace, the Austrian always keeps his cards close to his chest so it could be that at least one could be fit enough to play some part.

Ryan Bertrand would be a welcome addition back to the squad in that his replacement in the two games missed Kevin Danso is suspended and will miss the trip to Sheffield.

All in all though the squad should have the depth to cope though and I would be more concerned about the loss of Danso than Djenepo, as good as his goal was against Brighton.
