Football Fans To Return To The Stadiums In October

The Daily Mirror seems to have a leak in the Government judging by the number of stories that it has published about the ending of lockdown in the last week or so, now they are predicting when fans will be allowed back.

Mirror Online is claiming that a 50-page, five-point plan has been drawn up by the Prime Minister in order to try and get the country back to normal once the coronavirus crisis has eased.

Getting fans back into stadiums is part of the fifth point of this plan, alongside the re-opening of gyms, and will be put forward by the prime minister as he sets out a "roadmap" of his plans on Sunday.

The plan - which Johnson hopes to start putting into immediate action on Monday, when unlimited exercise is set to be allowed - is still a provisional one, and would be subject to the country staving off a second wave of coronavirus or a season flu outbreak in the autumn.

Al of these plans though are subject to the Premier League getting re started in June to complete this season, the feeling is that if this season is not completed then legal action by clubs affected by promotion or relegation could mean that next season could not be started until the legalities have been decided in the high court and that could take months meaning that season 2020/21 would be postponed and more than likely have to be scrapped.

Although many footballing people have commented in the press, there is little directly coming from the clubs themselves, they are very aware of the ramifications of not getting this season completed.

The meeting for this will be taking place on Monday although the vote itself may be delayed until later in the week to enable the clubs to digest any new information.

Should the league be successful in their plan to restart, then the current season should be finished by the end of July.

That would open up the possibility of starting the new campaign in empty stadiums before fans are allowed to attend in October, or even waiting until October to play the entire season in front of crowds.

There will be many who will now froth at the mouth at even the mention of re starting the season, but it is being clearly stated by both football and the Government that all of these plans are provisional and could be changed or adapted at short notice as the current issues see changes.

So there is no need to get uptight, if and when football is restarted it will be done under strict conditions, medical, scientific and for the good of the country.
