Boost For Saints As Walcott Returns To Training

Saints fans will be pleased to hear that Theo Walcott is back in training and it could not have come at a better time with important games coming up in both the FA cup and the Premier League.

Theo Walcott will have been out for over two months by the time he returns to action for Saints, he limped off in the 65th minute of the 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa on 30th January and with the International break meaning there are no fixtures this weekend, it will be the visit of Burnley on Sunday 4th April before he will have a chance to play in a game again.

But his return will be welcomed to a Saints squad that even though the injury crisis has abated a little is still a little short on options.

Walcott will offer a good attacking option for Ralph Hasenhuttl as the season approaches it's climax and with the game against Burnley a fixture in which Saints will be looking to take a big step forward and put any lingering doubts of relegation to bed before travelling to a West Bromwich Albion side who will be in last chance saloon when we visit the Hawthorns.

Walcott has another week of training ahead of him to ensure that he is not only free of the muscle injury sustained in January, but to get his fitness levels back up to as near as 100% as he can.

Saints fans will be looking next for the sight of Danny Ings back on the Staplewood training ground, he has been out since the early part of the win at Sheffield United on 6th March and he too has been missed.

Saints will hope that they have both Walcott and Ings fit for the two Premier League games and firing on all cylinders when we travel to Wembley in three weeks time to meet Leicester City.
