Almost A Fully Fit Squad For Southampton'sTrip To West Bromwich Albion

Long term injuries aside Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl only has one injury doubt ahead of the trip to the Hawthorns for a game that is vital to both clubs for differing reasons, so who might be out and what are the options.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has told the media that his only injury doubt for the game at West Brom is right back Kyle Walker Peters, he has a slight leg injury but is still in contention to play,.

Otherwise it’s a clean bill of health for Saints, aside long-term injuries to Oriol Romeu, Will Smallbone and Michael Obafemi.

"We had two hard sessions today. Kyle had a little problem with his leg, but the rest is quite fit,” Hasenhüttl said.

"You can feel the quality of the session is getting better because all the players are back, and that automatically gives you more experienced players on the pitch, so the quality is a little bit higher.

"This is good to see, good to watch and enjoyable every session.”

From the sound of it KWP has only picked up a slight knock in training so could well be fit given that there are still three days to go before the game, but if Ralph decides to err on the side of caution and ensure that Walker Peter is ft for the trip to Wembley next weekend, then we could see the Austrian revert to a back three as he did in the final stages of the win over Burnley.

With no natural right back available that would be a sensible option, with Salisu coming in alongside Jan Bednarek and Jannik Vestergaard and Ryan Bertrand being used as a left wingback and perhaps Theo Walcott on the right.

That would leave James Ward Prowse and Ibrahima Diallo in the middle and they could be joined with Stuart Armstrong in a more central role with the licence to roam a little and drive at the Baggies defence, leaving Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond up top.

Not a bad line up and just the type that Ralph would have wanted to have employed over the past few months but was unable to due to the number of injuries.
