Oriol Romeu Returns To Training
Saints fans will be pleased to hear that Oriol Romeu is back on the training ground at Staplewood and making a return to full recovery after fracturing his ankle in the defeat at Leeds United back in February.
The club have tweeted a picture of Oriol Romeu back in training although they confirm it is only light work and he is not yet ready to return to full sessions with the squad.
The club tweeted a photo of Romeu and wrote: "Stepping up the recovery. Keep smiling, Oriol Romeu!"
Romeu who won the Saints player of the year back in 2016/17 and was well in the running to win it again with only James Ward Prowse being as consistent as the Spaniard up to that game in February when injury struck as the awful pitch at Elland Road collapsed under his foot and fractured his ankle.
Although it is good to see him back in training I would be surprised if Saints risked a return to playing in the final month of the season, when relegation becomes a mathematical impossibility it will be all about next season, not just for Oriol Romeu but the entire squad as ralph Hasenhuttl looks to rebuild the squad in the summer.
