FA Cup Fourth Round Draw ! Saints Will Play At Home

Last season Saints reached the semi finals of the competition but a restricted attendance meant to be just for local residents meant that very few Saints fans were present, can Saints go one game further this year, here is the FA Cup 4th round draw.

Back in the good old days the FA Cup draw was always on a Monday lunchtime and I still remember the whole school awaiting the semi final draw of 1976 and also the excitement in 1984 when we were paired with Portsmouth in what turned out to be the classis meeting between the two sides.

Last season saw us reach the semi finals and although it was a disappointing game with Leicester playing their full part in sitting back in a game that saw few chances

These days the FA Cup has been devalued by the big clubs paying it scant respect up until the semi finals, but for older fans it is still the competition to win.

The big news though is that Saints will play.

Home To Coventry City

This was once a regular fixture in the Saints calendar, but this will be the first time the club have met since the final game of 2011/12 when the Sky Blues were beaten 4-0 in front of a record crowd of 32,363 at St Mary's with goals by Billy Sharp, Jose Fonte, Jos Hooiveld and Adam Lallana to seal promotion back to the the Premier League.

The Sky Blues were already relegated to League One by this stage as were Portsmouth who joined them in the drop.
