Southampton At Wolverhampton Wanderers The Preview

Saints go to Molyneux on the back of a fortnight that has seen two wins and a positive transfer window, Wolves sit in the bottom three, a big step for Saints can they secure all three points and continue the wave of optimism.

The good thing about this game is that with the new arrivals it is hard to predict just waht the side will be for this game, I would imagine that in goal and in 3/4 of the back four the selection is easy, but what does Ralph do with the left back spot, Romain Perraud was the right man for the Chelsea game, but is he the right man for Wolves were Ralph needs to be less defensive and take the game to the home side, should Djenepo be restored in that position.

But it is not as clear cut as that with the new signings Ralph has options, the first would be to drop Naitland- Miles into right back and switch KWP to the left

But then again he could drop ANM into the right midfield and drop Elyounoussi. Or does he give Samuel Edozie a start ?

In the centre we will miss Romeu Lavia, but we have options, Diallo & JWP with Joe Aribo in front would be my choice.

Personally I feel that it is too early to throw in the new signings and that Ralph has to start with the foundations of the win over Chelsea, the choice between Perraud & Djenepo is the main concern otherwise aside from Elyounoussi and Stuart Armstrong I wouldnt say much more change is needed other than on the bench

So a big game for Saints, a win would see us push up the League and from that perspective we can go with confidence, but despite the great result againsy Chelsea we are still a work in progress, so keep it tight, we have some good options now coming through, so the game has a lot of opportunities for the new signings off the bench.

Southampton V Leicester City The Verdict
It was 4 in a row for Tonda Eckert & his Saints side, another polished performance that pushed us up to 11th but more importantly to the fringes of the play off spots, posing the question how a team and it's players who were so poor just 3 weeks or so ago can be so different now.
