Southampton Linked With Another Raid On Rangers
Just as one rumour emerges of a Saints raid on one half of the Old Firm it appears that we are busy bee's in Glasgow and we are also looking at a player who plies his trade with Celtic's Auld Enemy Rangers.
If we don't land one winger from Glasgow in Liel Abada from Celtic, we may get another in Ryan Kent from Rangers.
Kent who joined the Gers from Liverpool in 2019 for around £6 million is entering the last 6 months of his contract and could be available at a cut price cost.
The 25 year old is valued at around £15 million, but with his deal expiring in the summer of 2023, Rangers might have to cut their losses and accept a lower fee.
Saints of course have signed Steven Davis from Rangers and also at the start of this season Joe Aribo.
He has considerable experience having played for Coventry, Barnsley, SC Frieburg and Bristol Rovers before joining Rangers in the summer of 2019 after spending the previous season on loan.
So will Saints go for either winger and if so who would represent the best chance of success in the Premier League.
Abada has youth on his side, but lacks experience outside of the SPL, so is more about potential, he also has a better scoring ratio than Kent, but the Rangers man has more assists.
