Burnley's Nathan Tella Interest Ends After New Signing
Nathan Tella spent last season on loan at Burnley and went from being a squad player with Southampton to being a hero in Lancashire, however he wasn't such a hero with those in charge of the purse strings it seems.
A couple of months ago Saints supporters assumed that Nathan Tella would be heading back to the Premier League, not with Saints but with Burnley, however it seems that despite his big contribution to their promotion campaign with 17 goals, that the Lancashire club's hierarchy were not prepared to spent on signing him on a permanent basis.
Most sources agree that Tella's value would be around £17 million, yet the highest that Burnley were prepared to go was £9 million. At that price Southampton were not listening.
Now it seems that their pursuit of the player is over, hot on the heels of the free transfer signing of former Saint Nathan Redmond, the Mail Online has revealed that the Burnley pursuit of Tella is over after the signing of Jacob Bruun Larsen on loan from Hoffenheim.
The article also claims that Larsen was also on Southampton's radar.
That interest is now over and so it seems is Burnley's interest in Nathan Tella, good news you would hope for Saints supporters and notice that Saints are not willing to entertain offers for any of their players that do not come close to their own valuation, in this case Burnley were only just offering half of Tella's true value.
