Saints Are Hungary To Make New Midfield Signing
Southampton are once again being linked with a new signing you will be surprised to hear and this time we are heading to Budapest for a player who could well be a permanent deal rather than a loan signing.
football leagueworld.co.uk are claiming that Southampton are interested in what they say is a smart and low risk signing for the club.
The player in question is Mihaly Kata a central midfielder who at 21 is already in his 3rd season in the first team of MTK Budapest and has also this season broken into the Hungarian national side.
The report suggests that Saints have already set their sight on Kata, but are looking more long term on this signing, rather than seeing him as being part of the promotion push.
Dutch side Herenveen and several unnamed German clubs are also said to be interested in the Hungarian’s signature.
Kata who will turn 22 in April is said to be in no hurry to leave and is contracted until 2026, the fee that it would take to bring him to St Mary's is said to be about £1.5 million, this is why it is a low risk signing, he is an inexpensive gamble that might just pay off.
