Nathan Stanton signs new deal

Nathan Stanton has today signed a new deal at Rochdale which will extend his contract by a further two years.

Stanton’s contract will now run until the summer of 2010 after his original one was due to expire at the end of this season.

Since signing in the summer of 2006 Nathan has appeared 50 times for the club and quickly established himself as a fans’ favourite with his impressive displays at the heart of the defence. It is a commonly held view amongst the Dale faithful that one of the reasons for the recent good form is the return of Stanton from injury.

Nathan had this to say when speaking to the official club website, Rochdaleafc.co.uk :-

“I was really happy to sign the extension and hopefully during my time here we can go on to really achieve something. It gives me security as well and that is important because I do have a family. I still live in Nottingham but travelling isn’t a problem when you are enjoying the things that you are doing and I travel in with some of the lads anyway so it was never an issue.”

We’re sure that Rochdale supporters everywhere are delighted with this news and look forward to seeing more of the performances Stanton has been putting in week in and week out.
