Silly Billy Healy out of tune
Silly Billy David Healy has apologised for pretending to play the flute!
Ex-Leeds striker and Fulham forgotten man David Healy has apologised, after being caught pretending to play the flute during a pre-season friendly!
Northern-Irish international Healy caused a storm on Saturday, when in response to some stick he claims he was getting from Celtic fans, he mimicked playing a flute.
The gesture is synonymous with the Protestant Orange Order, many readers will remember Gazza getting into hot-water many years ago for pulling off a similar stunt.
With Healy being from Northern Ireland, you would have thought he would have known BETTER than most people how potentially provocative the gesture would be, particularly when the opponents were Celtic - a club steeped in Catholic tradition.
Nevertheless Healy has apologised: "It was one of those regrettable incidents that somebody said something and I made a silly gesture, which ultimately I regret."
Fulham incidentally beat Celtic 3-1.
Given that he is way down the pecking order at mighty Fulham and his only escape route appears to be a possible move to Ipswich, maybe Daft Dave should think about taking up a musical instrument properly!
