Not been much of a rush this morning, so I can only assume that not many people have 9 away tickets to their name

Ticket update:

"tickets will then go on sale to any supporter with a previous purchase history from 9am on Friday (September 13)"

Adult £24
Senior (65+) £18
Young Person (18-22) £16
Ambulant* £16
Wheelchair User* £15
Junior (2-17) £7

https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2019/september/southampton-h-ticket-update/

£7 for 17 and under is pretty good value for a big local derby game like this but Pompey's ticket pricing strategy has been aimed at attracting new young fans and we could learn from that. Note also that their reductions for youngsters are not dependent on them being accompanied by an adult (usually a parent) and sitting quietly in a family centre. Even the reduction for 18-22-year-olds is geared towards attracting the traditional football fans: groups of young lads. And when you look at Pompey's season ticket prices, they are almost giving them away to anyone aged 22 and under.

Poll: Would you like a home 'kop' at St. Mary's directly behind one of the goals?

Actually our ticket prices look good against this and you dont always have to sit in the family centre to get them.

An under 11 can sit in wings or goals for £156 for a season ticket that works out at £18.21 per game

18-25 individual tickets are between £15-25 depending on the team so we are charging only £1 more for Premier League football for some games

An adult can watch some games for £20, that is less than Pompey fans will be paying to see a League 1 Game

Saints ticket prices are not perfect but they have broadened the prices to try and fill out the lesser games with cheap seats and to increase revenue on the big games with dearer seats.

The emphasis is on season tickets.

Our cheapest adult season ticket is £399 whereas their's is £439

I thought 24 quid was a bit steep for a third round League Cup tie at that old dump. I googled other local ancient monuments and discovered that both Stonehenge and HMS Victory charge £19 for entry, although to be fair to Pompey, neither of those are as old as Fratton Park.
