Hasenhuttl out brigade on 01:58 - Jan 2 with 1352 views | A_Saint_in_Stoke | Just think? Manuel Pellegrini has just been sacked after only 18 months - this after him being able to spend £122 Million plus on 4 players, and had lots of support (( Moyles will be gone in under 2 years )) Marco Silva sacked after 18 months after spending nearly £200 Million on new players - after being supported ............. So let us look at what Ralph has to put up with? - told he would have to sell players B4 being able to purchase - has a chairman with no money and NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT .................... I was astounded a few weeks ago when many on here were calling for Ralph's head ------ we really don't know how lucky we are to have him when it does seem that he has very little support from the club. although I do not agree with all Ralph's decisions.

From his comments after the Chelsea game he is expecting new recruits early in the window, I wonder if any do arrive whether it will upset the new found positivity and confidence of the current squad.

Hasenhuttl out brigade on 09:12 - Jan 2 with 1265 views | City_boy | I wasn't in the "out brigade", and acknowledge he has turned things around, certainly since the Leicester game. I believe he is a genuine guy and passionate about the club. However, he was culpable for some poor decisions, even in that Leicester game, and it was obvious he didn't know who or what formation his best back line was. Some of the substitutions were also questionable as have some of the signings. He has had 2 transfer windows and not addressed the defensive failings. This has been his biggest failure as it was well known. His selection of backroom staff (whether this is his doing or not) also has to be questioned. As documented in here, they are just not experienced or good enough. All said - I still wouldn't want to change, but hope he continues to learn from some of the events over last 12 months. I also don't believe there is anyone out there available or would be willing to jump ship to join us at this stage anyway. If anyone is still nervous about going down, you can now get 10/1 on relegation.

These days managers don't deal directly with transfers, clubs including Saints have a department that deals with all this, the manager is part of the process and in Saints case has to give the final yes or no to a signing, but he is not directly involved in negotiations. Clubs feel that it can ruin player/manager relations if the manager deals with contracts etc and that makes sense. With regards to the backroom staff, Saints try to keep a consistent coaching staff who are club appointed with the manager getting to bring in 1 sometimes 2 of his own men, so the likes of Kelvin Davis, Craig Fleming and Dave Watson are club appointments, only Richard Kitzblichler is the managers choice, this is the way at many clubs these days who don't want wholesale departures when a manager leaves. Hasenhuttl has made mistakes, but he seems to have learn't from them

That would have been levelled out by you insisting on not playing JWP. Another terrific performance from him. 100 per cent effort shutting out the Spurs midfield. That block tackle leaving the Spurs player in a heap was a sight to behold.

Yes of course playing 4 at the back against Liverpool, Leicester and Man city would definitely have got us the points. Ralph has turned this around, he does a lap of honour around the pitch because he is so passionate, he loves the club and Saints are 11th. We have 9 more points than this time last year, more points this year than we did at the same time under Puel and only 2 less than we finished 6th under Koeman. All after a 9-0 defeat. That is incredible resilience and a great turnaround. Give some credit where due. Ward-Prowse was also incredible yesterday - what a performance.

I was unlucky as I must have watched a different match to you where the commentator said "Ward Prowse is usually one of the best dead ball specialists in the Premiership, he must be having an off day today as none of his crosses are getting past their first man." Perhaps you'd be good enough to post where these alternative dimension games are being shown so that I can enjoy a "Fantastic" performance from the boy. Happy New Year.

You know the person who was describing the action when Saints were playing Spurs. They're called commentators. And he didn't rate 'The Boy'.
