whilst I agree with most of what you say this line is become very repeatative
"But this is not a cause for mass hysteria on social media, we can't change anything now till the summer transfer window, all we can do it make do with what we had"
For the entire first half of the season all you needed to do was change "summer" for "January" after every verdict after every loss where we gave away a soft goal. It's boring (not your reports, but the same sort of goals conceded) that we have seen this over and over again and the club do nothing about it. [Post edited 17 Feb 2020 12:17]

Before last summer, we heard the same. When are we allowed to have a go at the club for never addressing the defensive situation? Or do we just keep saying "Never mind, there is always the next transfer window". When do we say "I have said this 10 times, for 10 transfer windows - now buy a facking defender!!" Definitely a poor squad overall with a few good players-( Ings, Redmond, Ward-Prowse, Bertrand)and a few more who have their moments (Armstrong, Hojbjerg, Bednarek, McCarthy)

It would not be at all surprising if we started next season with just the weakest of the four, Bednarek, left and the other three playing for rival Premier League clubs. True enough and an already weakened back four by the pointless release of Cedric to be replaced by a frankly lightweight looking Matt Targett sort plus resting our best CB for our worst

I think in that brief you mention, not only did we take a few chances, but we got a little lucky at the back. We were still making the same mistakes or gifting the opposition chances, but in that period they weren't being taken.
Against Watford and Norwich, both had late chances to equalise. Palace should have scored first when Vest screwed up and at 1-0 down it is a different game.
The game this Saturday will be key and hopefully Villa will again defend like they did against us at Villa Park and present us with the chances they gave Spurs at the weekend. |  |

Its even more painful that its been obvious for 3 years that what we have isn't good enough. It's like having a slow puncture, rather than replacing the tyre you just keep pumping it up every time it goes flat and seeing how long you can get away with it, knowing full well it'll go flat again sooner rather than later. | |
