I think everyone is a bit jittery/anxious... not least my missus!
A big rise in deaths today with many more to come in the next few days unfortunately. All you can do is follow the government/health profession's advice & stay indoors as much as possible & hope for the best. I'm trying to keep occupied but every time I switch the radio or telly on it's all you hear!
Things could be worse though and that's always worth bearing in mind. I mean... who would want to be a doctor or nurse working on the frontline right now? Not me - that's for sure. Bloody heroes each & every one of them. |  |

All these deaths are tragedies, and it is unwelcome news that the lower numbers for deaths reported a few days ago have not continued.
But if you're isolating and taking care there is no need to be jittery. Total UK corona deaths is still only c.2,300 out of a population of 65+ million. That's one in every 28,000 or so. And to put some more perspective on it, on average c.50,000 people die each month in the UK. Some of the 2,300 - because old and ill - would have died anyway.
The only question is - is this running out of control? And my perspective is that it isn't. The numbers are increasing more rapidly than had been hoped but still at a reasonably steady rate. They will increase further but in Italy and Spain have tended to top out around the 800/day mark, so we may be nearing the worst of it. |  |

The issue is there are not enough tests being carried out (for whatever reason) which means there is more of the virus wandering our streets that we know of. Once the increase in tests take place hopefully that toll will reduce
Having now just been furloughed myself I will certainly be reducing my time out of the house despite keeping to that 2m plus rule rigidly
