This pandemic is bringing even more of those anti-Tory / anti-English c*nts out of the woodwork.

Scousers are quite easily the most nauseating bunch of self-obsessed c*nts in the UK.

Not really. I am certainly not a tory ffs, I think all politicians are c*nts.

I do however think that the government are doing a reasonable job under the circumstances, unlike the squinnying scousers who are just using it to bash the tories regardless of how well they perfom.

And then the club the scousers support and adore, are the richest, most capitalist club in the world! They adore VD and Mane on 300 thousand a pounds a week, then they hate the Tories!!

They come down to St Mary's, rub it in our faces because they are so good, having spent so much money and then they hate capitalism, the very thing their club is all about (making huge amounts of money from tourists and fans across the world!). Don't see them protesting against their club for doing this!

The point is, if true scousers love socialism so much, why do they tolerate and contribute to their own club being the most capitalist / richest club on the planet?

Bit ironic don't you think? The richest, most capitalist club in the world paying the most extortionate wages to the most greedy players in the world, are supported by a bunch of local socialists, who believe in sharing out wealth?

There is a lot less patriotism in the UK than there used to be and a lot more internal division and squabbling.

This is a football message board so, obviously that's the main topic that usually gets discussed on here. I remember how overjoyed all British football fans were when Celtic won our first ever European Cup.

Every British club in Europe and especially every English club got the support of the whole nation of football fans whenever they represented us in European competition. Nowadays, I see English football fans who want every English team to lose whenever they play a foreign team. I can understand it if it's the local rivals but I've seen fans on football message boards rejoicing every time an English team loses.

As I said, we are a much less united and less patriotic nation than we used to be.

Exactly. You'd think after what happened with the Tories and the scousers in the 80s, and then others in the nation saying all scousers are thieves/jobless/c*nts then the least you could expect would be that scousers would bend over backwards to vote for the Tories and support the national football team

Always a lot of Yorkshire people at England away and they were treated as badly as anyone by the government in the 80’s. They haven’t bleated constantly about being victims and not being English.

Don’t think Heysel and the scousers willingness to use blades in the 70s and 80s helped public opinion of them either.

You're absolutely right Dirk. It's been my personal experience also; as a child / teen I supported every English team in Europe but sometime and somehow that stopped and I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe after Heysel.

Cracking bit of generalisation and stereotyping there.

By scousers do you mean Liverpool supporters or people from Liverpool as they are two very different things.

In the past year I’ve been in Liverpool when England have played in big rugby, cricket and football matches. All pubs were packed, everyone right behind England, shirts and St George flags all over the place. Likewise when any English boxer is fighting (AJ, Fury, etc) everyone patriotic and behind them.

I’ve been there for Remembrance Sunday in the past few years. Again as patriotic and proud to be English as anywhere in the country.

Are you confusing scousers with being Anti Tory with being Anti English as again they are two very different things. Liverpool doesn’t have a great history with the Tory party since Thatcher, it doesn’t mean that an entire city is anti English.

Solent Toffee has hit the nail right on the head here, there are Liverpool supporters who are from Merseyside who are no different to Everton supporters from Merseyside.

To call all Liverpool supporters not from Liverpool complete bell ends would be unfair, but the truth is that the Liverpool supporters who blast off on social media and go in your local pub telling everyone what a great team Liverpool is and how sh*t yours is generally have been no where near the city

ST is right when he says that the England teams etc are supported by Scousers, anyone who has followed England away over the past 40 years will tell you both clubs have had big groups at away games, perhaps not so much Wembley.

The difference is that rightly or wrongly there is a scouse mentality, a lot of people consider themselves to be Scouse first and English second, possibly because of the way they perceive the city to have been treated back in the 1980's but it goes back further than that, its not only scousers, the Cornish for instance are the same, possibly the Geordies and to a lesser extent the Mancs.

It's not really anything to do with the way that they were treated it is a City thing, as ST will tell you it is very elitist if you are from somewhere like St Helens or Widnes you are a Wooly Back and definitely not Scouse, although ironically if you are from Skelmersdale or the Wirral you can be classified as Scouse by most as they are seen as Scouse overspill, although the real zealots will work to the exact Liverpool boundaries and not a yard more

My wife is from New Ferry so a woolly back technically and I can assure you she can be a bitch

Her 78 year old father lives with us as we couldn't put him in a home and he is the most devout Tory you will ever find , he spent most of his working life as a nurse as well. He was also a copper in Liverpool docks before that , you wouldn't believe the amount of contraband he had in his garage , from whiskey , frozen sheep to a dentists chair.

Give a Scouser a fish, and he can eat for a day.

Give him a fishing rod and he'll put it in your letterbox and nick your car keys.

One of the few silver linings of this whole crisis is that they might not get the title which would be bloody funny in my book. On the downside it would also give the scallies yet another thing to whinge on and on and on about....

Really, they should adopt the Millwall anthem as it suits them better than that dirge they otherwise sing.

I personally don't have any knowledge about whether people from Liverpool support England and any of that. But Liverpool fans unfurled a banner in the kop of Jeremy Corbyn. Again, we live in a democracy, they can vote for who they like, that is not my point. But hang on a minute, whilst adoring socialism, they are contributing to the richest, most capitalist club in the world? They hate capitalism, yet they are a part of a club that encourages rich tourists because it makes their team great. They love Corbyn for not liking the rich, yet Liverpool fans literally bow to players earning 300 000 pounds a week, at the same time saying how much they hate capitalist the Tories? They love their club for buying VD, illegally for 80 million pounds, they sing his name, yet they love socialism?

They love to tell us what a great team they are but their success is due to the thing they hate: capitalism. How much would they accept Corbyn's policies of sharing out wealth? Perhaps their club could share some of their wealth and not illegally tap up the best players in the world? Well, apparently their beloved club didn't dobanything wrong said their fans when they came to St Mary's. That club is the most hypocritical, cheating, distasteful club in the club in the league for a number of reasons. Other clubs might spend just as much, but they don't unfurl socialist banners do they? How can you unfurl a banner about socialism, whilst sitting in the ground of the world's richest club, enjoying the wealth of their team's success? Being the richest club in the world, and then being the first to furlough, just about sums them up.
