You’re right the Guardian is continually slagging off the government but failing to come up with any sensible suggestions other that throw more money at everything. Starmer initially vowed not to make political point scoring for the sake of it yet now does exactly that. Parliament needs bright ideas to inspire in these terrible times but our leading MPs are too busy sniping at each other encouraged by pathetic journalism.

I’m not sure reporting on what is happening is “pathetic journalism”. What would be pathetic is sucking up to those in power just because you helped put them there. This government have been totally inept in their handling of the pandemic and it is good that some news sources have been honest about that. Even The Mail has been having a go at the government.

Have to say you are right. Here is the BBC fact check on Johnsons new deal speech. Have to say it appears it's all hype and bluster aside from the deportation bit.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/53236921?__twitter_impression=true&fbclid=IwAR0bS

The conservatives have thrown money at the DUP and have thrown money in terms of tax breaks for the most wealthy. Sometimes you have to spend money to get something done right. The conservatives adopted austerity and this has ruined the country.

Austerity is the opposite of throwing money at something and yet it ended up costing the country far more in terms of debt and lives lost. The labour party supported austerity in 2015 and rejected it in 2017 and 2019 with well prepared manifestos. I suspect they would triangulate whatever the conservatives do now the Blairites are in charge again.

The conservatives have apparently adopted a form of mild socialist agenda so those on here from the far right should be absolutely livid but I suspect we wont hear a peep.

We live in strange times. A conservative chancellor copying Corbynomics, a prime minister copying Mussolini with the press ups, a country run by an unelected mekon headed 'guru'.

We have an opposition to the right of the chancellor and a public who are seemingly at ease with 60000 'excess deaths'. Sometimes it feels we are in an experiment to see how much death of our fellow citizens we would tolerate in preperation for something far more chilling.

Now we are almost out of Europe we should have more control over who owns our infrastructure and who we can deport and bring in

Boris has invited 3 million Chinese into the country. Where would we put them?

Scotland is underpopulated I nominate there.

What is pathetic is the weak pansy noddys like yourself, Ian and Benji that are infecting our nation with your cowardly attitude towards anything.

I just find it hard to believe that a supposed tip flight business person like 22 could have considered voting for someone as clearly economically inept as John McDonnell...

I was a fool who voted for Blair in 1997.
For my vote I received an upgrade to target of terrorist attack for being dragged into an illegal war in the Middle East based on lies on which I or any other person was not consulted - an infrastructure that is creaking at the seams through overload; hospitals, schools, roads, housing due to unlimited immigration and a period of austerity caused the by fact that Labour damn near bankrupted the country.

Austerity was not caused by Labour, it was by a global financial crisis caused by mismanagement of banks.

Your right about illegal war, but I’m sure if Tories had been in charge they would have done exactly what Blair did

But don’t let facts get in the way of blaming everything on Labour, Tories are still doing this now but have been responsible or irresponsible for governing the country for ten years now

Yet during the financial crisis and recession caused by real estate issues in the US, the labour government kept right on spending, leaving a 777billion debt when Brown was defeated.
As Liam Byrne put in writing, 'there's no money left'.
Austerity followed.

Austerity was a choice made by the Tory government at the time. A choice.

The thing with the Tories at that time was they didn’t have Alastair Campbell working for them, and he really was (and is) a duplicitous cvnt of the highest order.

Labour’s spin capabilities at that time were way ahead of the Tories’...

Well the Tories have done a brilliant job with the economy, by 2017 the 777 billion had risen to almost double that at 1,720 billion, by I dare say you’ll say that was labours fault too.

Trying to pretend that the massive coalition borrowing in 2010 was due to their own making and nothing to do with the massive structural deficit inherited from the previous Labour administration is laughable.
