Fulham fans love him. He's been Man of the Match in 4 of their last 6 games.

Man of the Match again

Wednesday 15 July 2020 11:56

Harrison Reed’s fine form continued with another Man of the Match display at West Bromwich Albion.

The 25-year-old’s performances in the middle of the park have been incredibly consistent since football restarted, and he’s regularly singled out for praise by the Fulham faithful on social media.

His most telling contribution on Tuesday came when Baggies substitute Hal Robson-Kanu looked to have a clear sight of goal, but Reed had sensed the danger and tracked the forward, allowing him to make a crucial last ditch block.

Reed made four interceptions during the game which was the highest of any of the 29 players involved, whilst he also had a pass success rate of 90 per cent.

65.6 per cent of supporters believed Reed was our top performer at the Hawthorns. Anthony Knockaert also put in a determined shift, as is evidenced by him receiving 20.7 per cent, while Denis Odoi came third with 4.1 per cent.

Harrison Reed has claimed another Man of the Match award following his efforts against Cardiff City.

It was a real physical battle against Neil Harris’ side, with Fulham standing up to the challenge well, and Reed in particular upsetting the Bluebirds’ gameplan.

Reed’s work rate has seen him become a true fan favourite this season, and he has now won three of the last five Man of the Matches.

Despite his diminutive stature, Reed still managed to win five aerial duels, while he also went on two successful dribbles, made three interceptions and won possession for his side on nine occasions.

56.9 per cent of fans thought Reed was our best player in the 2-0 victory. Scorer of the crucial second goal, Josh Onomah, came second with 20.9 per cent, ahead of the man who assisted him, Stefan Johansen, who claimed 5.4 per cent.

Every Fulham match report raves about how what a fantastic player he is:

Reed shines even as Fulham full short

Harrison Reed came into the base of midfield today and put in a phenomenal performance. He patrolled in front of the back four with excellent energy, recovered the ball in an inspired manner and not only was tidy on the ball (highest passing accuracy of the 22 starters), he threaded through an excellent ball to Bobby Decordova-Reid for the biggest opening for Fulham in the 90 that the Jamaican forward crashed against the post.

It was the most impressive individual performance in the middle of the park for Fulham I’ve seen for a while.

It sounds like he is a lot more than just a midfield battler now. He has become one of the finest passers of the ball in the Championship and an expert at threading inch perfect passes through to the forwards.

He played 13 times for England U20s, which is almost as many games as he played for Saints, mostly when Koeman was manager. Yes, he has been a bit of a forgotten man here, for several years. Pity we can't use him on Sunday. He played the last time we won at Bournemouth, back in 2016.
