Salisu 10:32 - Jan 6 with 1021 views | Ron11 | He's suffered an injury during training, according to the Echo. Beginning to wonder if he'll ever play for the first team. Let's hope Stephens or Bednarek don't suffer an injury with Vestergaard out for a month. Calum Chambers was mentioned here by Nick, but judging by the way he couldn't wait to get out of here when he was 19, he might (unlike Theo) just go through the motions if he he came back and not show any real commitment. We do have defenders out on loan.

You would have thought that people would have a little faith in the people running the club and the manager and not keep harping on about something that happened 8 years ago under a different regime. To say Chambers couldnt wait to get out of the club is a little untrue, back in 2014 we had one of the best right backs in the country in Clyne and he wasnt being touted as a central defender back then, getting £16 m for a 19 year old was good business

Salisu on 11:56 - Jan 6 with 927 views | TimSaint | Begs the question, what the hell were they doing in training this week ? Romeu and Salisu both injured !! Did they tackle / kick each other ? It takes me back to when I read Keegan's book. At Saints, Lawrie used to arranged a regular 5-a-side on a Friday afternoon and players generally kicked lumps out of each other. Keegan questioned whether it was of any benefit to the team, especially as it was the day before a game, but Lawrie said the players loved it - and Keegan (apparently for the book at least) began to like it too !!

It could be more than that as he'd see out the remainder of his contract in Spain, on loan to the club who sold him to us, and we'd probably have to pay part of his wages while he's there. But nothing is definite yet so there is still hope that we'll see him play for us one day. I always remember how Delgado was never fit enough to play for Saints but regularly returned to South America to score goals for his national team against top opposition like Argentina and after he left here continued to play in club football for many more years. I think part of the problem was that Strachan didn't really want him here whereas, from what he's said publicly, Ralph seems to want Salisu here. [Post edited 7 Jan 2021 13:43]
