Reasons to be cheerful? 12:17 - Apr 19 with 752 viewsDorsetIan

It's really difficult to stay positive after a performance and result like yesterday's, but can anyone offer any rays of hope or signs of greens shoots of recovery to keep us going until the end of the season? (I'm not worried about relegation).

Is there any chance of a new owner coming in this summer?

Are there any academy players who we haven't really seen yet, who could become real stars?

Is there more to come from Minamino?

Anything? ...something...please...

Hopefully we should jump 6 places next season without trying to hard .

Plenty of things to be positive about

We the worst football club in the world with the worst owner, the worst board and with a manager who hasnt got a plan B actually reached the semi finals of a cup competition, something they have rarely done in their history and took on probably the third best team in the Premier League at the moment and matched them

I know it wasnt the 5 goal thrashing that everyone thought was going to happen (Both ways)

On another positive note I hear that the Big Six are recruiting supporters for the brand new super league where fans will be able to be truly proud of owners who invest in a club and make no bones about what they want.

All you've done there Nick is suggested that things aren't as bad as they might be, or as bad as some think.

I notice though that you haven't actually suggested anything specific that we might be hopeful about. Things that might actually improve us from where we currently are? Take us to the next level, so to speak.

Have you got anything?

Thinking about if the "big six" or whatever got removed. The Premier League would definitely be a lot more competitive for sure. Here are the 28 'hypothetical' historical 'winners' (well two actually were) everything else remaining the same:

1993 Aston Villa
1994 Blackburn
1995 Blackburn
1996 Newcastle
1997 Newcastle
1998 Leeds
1999 Leeds
2000 Leeds
2001 Leeds
2002 Newcastle
2003 Newcastle
2004 Newcastle
2005 Everton
2006 Blackburn
2007 Everton
2008 Everton
2009 Everton
2010 Aston Villa
2011 Everton
2012 Newcastle
2013 Everton
2014 Everton
2015 Southampton
2016 Leicester
2017 Everton
2018 Burnley
2019 Wolverhampton
2020 Leicester

And much more competitive in last 6 years - since 2015 Saints, Leicester, Burnley and Wolves all joined the mix.

21 years, 1993 - 2014 only 5 teams involved: Villa, Blackburn, Newcastle, Leeds and Everton.

Reasons to be cheerful? The sun is shining and I can potter around in the garden today. We aren’t a part of the greedy, selfish gang of six. The club have stood by a manager they believe in. I don’t support Spurs. The Covid death rate is down to single figures. We haven’t lost any more fish to the heron over the winter.

Life could be worse.
