If we can beat Leeds we could have a good chance of 13th

We could even finish 12th. 12th or 13th with a cup semi final wouldn't be too bad. A bit of luck and a sort out of the squad in the summer., there is no reason why we can't be hopeful for next year. It will be probably be same again, but you never know.

13th would be about par when you consider the size of the clubs above us

Incredible to think we could finish as high as 13th!

I agree with others, that would be a real achievement for a club our size and when you think we could finish above the likes of Newcastle, Brighton and Burnley, even Palace!

It certainly would be quite an achievement for a club as small as Little Pompey, 130.

It's impressive for a club as small as yours to be only 38 places below us.

I am not 130 in disguise.
I made my comments with a touch of humour.

Seriously though, 13th would still be a great finish compared with our situation 4 weeks or so ago.

Each place is worth around £2m in prize money so we currently 14 with a chance at 12th so potentially £4m extra going into the club , in comparison this is what you get for a run in FA Cup

Third round winners £61,500 32
Third round losers £20,500 32
Fourth round winners £67,500 16
Fourth round losers £22,500 16
Fifth round winners £135,000 8
Fifth round losers £45,000 8
Quarter-final winners £360,000 4
Semi-final winners £900,000 2
Semi-final losers £450,000 2
Final runners-up £900,000 1
Final winners £1,800,000 1

So, if a Premier League team, entering at the third round of the FA Cup reaches the final and wins the competition, they would pocket a prize total of £3.4 million ($4.6m). The beaten finalists would end up with £2.4 million ($3.2m).

Trust no one in a circus.

The memory of winning a FA Cup is better than any money.
To the supporter anyway.
To not have a shot on target in a FA Cup semi final, however how many excuses are thrown up, is fûcking poor.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

There is no doubt that the memories of winning the FA Cup are long lasting and valuable. But as the years (decades) pass, the younger fan base have only the "present" to deal with with. The diehards are happy to go to whatever division the club may descend to, but the vast majority would probably rather see PL survival and the occasional spurts of good form and amazing one off wins against the giants, whilst having the chance to see players like Salah, De Bruyne, (from the present), Gerrard, Shearer, Henry, Van Persie, Bergkamp etc (from the past). The likes of Wigan and Portsmouth are faint shadows of their former selves, having shed tens of thousands of regular fans who don't think the porridge served up in the lower divisions merits the entrance money. So on that basis, I'm happy to keep waiting for a trophy.
