I was fully expecting him to see out the final year of his contract, out on loan again, then to return to collect his loyalty bonus, before buggering off on a free !!
He was very poor last season in Italy, but was decent the season before that in Belgium, so perhaps he has found his level.
Any transfer fee would be a bonus, as we paid a £15m for him.
Good to get his wages off the books as well.
Perhaps the first of a few serial loans who won't play for Saints, to depart.
