Little Pompey lose as usual on 17:31 - Sep 18 with 5203 views | dirk_doone | It's 'understandable' that they always boo their team as they are, after all, the worst supporters in the world. I've been to a few non-Saints league games at Fratton Park and the atmosphere there is dire. Their fans are always on the verge of turning against their team and in the end they usually do: https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/fratton-fans-vent-ange [Post edited 18 Sep 2021 17:57]

As we know, as well as being the worst fans in the country for booing their own team, they always turn against their managers, but they have turned against the latest one in record time He's barely arrived and they are hounding him out already. The latest Little Pompey manager to be humiliated by the worst "supporters" in the land: https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-boss-emotio As for their official attendance figure of 15,330, what a joke that was. There were nowhere near that many. I watched the highlights on TV. The whole Milton End only had 544 Cambridge fans in it as they didn't even bother opening the home section because there were thousands of empty seats on the other 3 sides. Same old Pompey, always exaggerating their attendances. They'll probably exaggerate their attendance for their next home game too but anyone can see from all the seats available 2 days before the game that it's really going to be half empty. The thousands of empty seats are probably a relief for their players as it means there will be fewer people booing them: https://www.eticketing.co.uk/pompeyfc/EDP/Event/Index/597 [Post edited 19 Sep 2021 10:10]

Burton claimed 2k last night. They must have somehow overlooked the thousands of Little Pompey fans.

I think Saints included season ticket holders in that number, I know of at least 6 season ticket holders who didn't go on Sunday for various reasons.

The records show that Burton and Pompey are usually two very evenly matched teams so they'd have been hoping for a draw: https://www.soccerbase.com/teams/head_to_head.sd?team_id=2049&team2_id=427

They should be ok though to keep their status as a solid third division side. Is it 10 year run they have clocked up now in the third division?

Yes, it's their 10th consecutive season in the bottom two divisions (4 of them in the 4th). In the last 60 years they have spent considerably more seasons in the lower leagues than they have in the top flight. Next season will be their 22nd in total down there. As you say, they are becoming very much an established lower league side. They are not even one of the biggest clubs in the lower leagues. Five League One teams get bigger crowds than they do. Their fans have even been discussing the possibility of getting drawn against their local rivals, Havant & Waterlooville, in the 1st round of the FA Cup and not sounding too confident about beating them. Imagine being SO small that you only get the 6th biggest average attendances in the third tier. That's Little Pompey for you. [Post edited 17 Oct 2021 9:46]
