Pompey Rebullding The North Stand 12:16 - Jan 25 with 1073 viewsSaintNick

I noticed in their game last week that they have removed all the seats and terracing in half of the North stand at Fratton and they are apparently revamping it, they still couldnt sell the ground out even with about 3,000 seats missing

Little Pompey's gates are understandably a lot smaller than those of the biggest clubs in League One, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday, but they're even much smaller than Charlton and Ipswich's.

They seem to be returning to the levels of support they were getting in the 1990s, when they averaged 9,000. The official attendance was 14,000 but it doesn't look as though there were more than 10,000 there for their last home league game:

A complete rebuild was necessary as there is a fundamental fault with that stand.

It faces the pitch.

What would 10,000 have looked like rattling around inside that? Probably a lot like this:

Commentator: "Portsmouth are having a good season - ninth in League One". That's about right - 9th in the third tier is good for them!
