Would it be better long term to lose the next two games ? 13:55 - Nov 4 with 1228 viewssaintmark1976

Tonda Eckert is now the third favourite ( behind Martin and Carrick ) to take over as the next permanent Saints Manager.

I’ve a horrible feeling that if we beat Q P R tomorrow and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday the current shower that own and control our club will not be able to resist a further crack at another young, unproven, no cost to them wild card appointment.

Better perhaps to lose so that those in authority finally realise how bad things are at playing level ?

Can somebody please get some lyrics worked out ready for Wednesday night.

It's too big an opportunity to miss.

If we win the next two games I would be happy to carry on with Tonda.

We last won back to back games over 18 months ago.

Never mind an extension, he'd deserve a statue.

My neighbour is a Leeds fan, comes from there and is down here for work at nearby Heathrow Airport. Drives up for all home game and a ST holder. Quite a serious guy and economical with his words. The end of the 23/24 season was awkward. Then as we lost game after game in 24/25 if he saw me after the game that day or the next couple of days he would look at me, just shake his head, tut and sigh. No words were necessary.
Saw him on Sunday after the Preston game and he just shook his head and rolled his eyes then stopped and said when was the last time you won back to back games? Was it last time we were both in the championship and you went ages without losing? No, I said, my father used to tell me about the famous day in happened, the second game was away in London and news reached Southampton by messenger on horseback by late evening and they all gathered around the piano and sang songs of celebration by candlelight. He patted me on the back and went off into his house laughing out loud. First time I’d seen him laugh in ten years of him living next door. An exaggeration of course, but that’s what it feels like! The statue just made me think of it…

Me too.

When was the last time we won back-to-back league games?

Exactly.
