Sadly I think some people vote with prejudice on the player ratings, only Damion Downs and Joe Aribo got lower ratings out of 10 than Gavin Bazunu.
That was not a fair reflection, yes some would have marked him down because they feel that he should have done better with the goal, but overall he had a decent game and played a big part in making sure they didn't get a second in the final 20 mins or so with a couple of great saves and some good catching of crosses under pressure in the box.
Likewise these rating are out of 10 and surely Leo Scienza on 7.9 was not the only player worth more than the 6.9 that Jay Robinson got. |  |

Looking at the ratings on the BBC site, Scienza and Robinson are the only players above 6.3. So broad agreement with the ratings on this site then.
The only thing I'd say in defence of Baz is that he wasn't the only one at fault for the goal. Aribo was lazy in closing down the cross and the CBs were all over the place, but he still made a mess of it. That's the thing with Baz, he might look good on occasions, but he's just a mistake waiting to happen. |  | | |

It’s one of those things and it’s nothing new .
If McCarthy had let in that goal last night those that don’t rate him would be all over this site blaming him.
Those that think Bazunu is ok will defend him for the goal he let in last night.
