Loved Ray as a player, thought we got to see him play and enjoy a few excellent seasons at the Rangers. He was also not just a model pro, but a thorough gentleman.
However, for QPR, he was a bloody awful manager, and you can pinpoint the date when the slide started with his appointment.

We had a good first season under him, almost got into Europe and a cup quarter final. The problem he had was losing Les and Clive Wilson, he also had quite a few sliding doors moments that season we went down,we missed several penalties that could have made a difference.
We actually started the Chasmpionship season well despite losing Gallen, he was a bit unlucky to get the boot
He wasn't a great or even good manager but we've had far worse. Probably a case of right bloke wrong time
