Boxpark 18:40 - Apr 22 with 2718 viewsWinchesterExile

It looks a bit w*anky but I’m there on my own so would like some sort of entertainment for 2/3 hours. Did anyone go at the play off final or know someone who went? What’s the verdict?

Is it really £12 to get in, as I have seen some say??!!??

Went there once for an England game, wouldn’t rush back.

Free up till 1330 then £12 entry 😜
I think you have to get your free entry in advance from BoxPark.
Whether this is in person or on line it doesnt say.
Saints supporters can enter from 10am with a pre-purchased ticket, these can be bought directly from BOXPARK. After 1.30pm, entry is £12 and subject to availability on a first come, first served basis.

Supporters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian aged 25 or over.

Is that the official Saints fan park or is Boxpark something different? That’s probably a stupid question but I don’t to to England games and missed the play-off final so I’m a bit out of the loop.

I went to Wembley to see Blur a couple of summers back and there were so many food and drink options in the stadium that I didn’t bother going anywhere else. I know everything is marked up and London prices are a joke but this counts as a special occasion for me. That’s why I’ve ordered a premium ticket to go with my existing, non-premium one (that I don’t think I can transfer to anyone else). I offered it to an old mate but he’s already going so it’s still spare.

Each to their own and I’m obviously turning into and old man but I prefer going to quiet pubs and getting served quickly.

Have you seen the difference in food offerings in Wembley according to which level you’re sat on? If you have a premium ticket you get falafel and chicken wings. In the top tier it’s hotdogs and burgers.

They should rename it Snowpiercer Stadium. WALOB modern football is (and I know I’m perpetuating it by paying £150 for a premium match ticket and then gorging on falafel, chicken wings and craft beer etc.) I wonder if they do prawn sandwiches at one of the pop-up stalls…

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

Boxpark isn’t a “park” as such.

It’s just a big indoor place on Wembley Way, by the ground, with a number of bars and food outlets.

Usually some form of “entertainment” from a stage.

Some will lap it up, but it’s not for me, Clive.

Well, you're not bigging it up too much. I would propose the following tweaks to freshen it up for the discerning modern punter looking for a day to remember..

1. A pop up stall offering on the spot root canal treatment carried out by 2nd year students from the local Community College.

2. A spectacular drive by shooting display performed every hour on the hour.

3. An all-day interactive workshop run by Will Still entitled " If I can manage a Championship level club, then so can you ". (Strictly no refunds ).

It all looks a bit smashy and Nicey/Timmy Mallet to me and I can see myself wanting to machine gun anybody who wants to force ‘fun’ on me. Am I wrong?

If you’re a fan of pricey beer and street food, you’ll love it.

Nope, "forced fun" is the worst. Leave me alone and let me be a miserable b@stard!

Happy to give the venue a big tick for that. Showcasing young musical talent always gets my vote.

They need a punchier name though. If they favour a celestial theme, how about Titan Uranus.

Snowpiercer stadium made me laugh, good work. Hope I get to see Mr Wilford.

Same as you though, I'll be with my 11 year old, so we'll probablly just head to get a mortgage for a burger in the ground. I really don't fancy the idea of something like Boxpark, ugh.
